NEWS AND UPCOMING COURSES:
Exploring the Walking Dunes
Thursday evenings 5:30 pm - 8 pm May 25, June 8 and June 22 Based on the popular winter course held in February, we will revisit one of Long Island's most fascinating and beautiful ecological areas, and my personal favorite, the Walking Dunes of Napeague. The three classes are spaced over six weeks to allow us to study the transition from spring to summer, and observe many of the area's plants, including several rare orchids, in bloom. For those interested in photography, don't forget your camera. The evening light is great photographing. This course is suitable for the novice as well as the advanced naturalist. MEET: at the end of Napeague Harbor Road. COST: $50 for the course ($20/class).
